The basic rule of thumb is to only use a mild abrasive with a blue or green Scotch Brite® pad for HI-MACS® solid surface installed with a matte finish.
If the surface was installed with a gloss finish, stick with ammonia based glass cleaner like 409® and do not use any abrasive cleaning pad.
Scratches and cuts can be buffed away with a light duty scrubbing pad and a mild abrasive cleanser.
Clean thoroughly with soap and water and let dry. Any scratch on a high gloss finish countertop should be removed by a professional fabricator.
For knife cuts, deep cuts, gouges and chips, contact your fabricator. The damage is repairable but may require special tooling and expertise.
Visit our Care and Maintenance page for more information.
Thanks to its unique technology, HI-MACS® withstands most everyday stains.
We recommend using a common household cleaner to clean our countertops.

Prolonged or extreme heat and flame can cause yellowing and damage the surface.
In most cases, the damage can be repaired but it is still recommended that hot pads and trivets are used to protect the surface and
prolong the product lifetime. Do not place high-heat cookware, such as electric skillets, frying pans, griddles or slow cookers
directly on the surface without hot pads and trivets

Due to its non-porous attribute, there is no wax or sealant required for any special care of the product. Normal cleaning only requires
soap and water or damp cloth with mild cleanser. If you have chosen a matte finish, you can use an abrasive cleaner like Ajax® or Comet®.
When you do so, we recommend periodically cleaning the entire surface in a circular motion to maintain uniformity. Do avoid using
strong acidic cleaners, such as those designed for drains, toilets and ovens. Some of these cleaners can cause whitening which can be
difficult to remove. Please visit our Care and Maintenance page, and contact us if you have any further question.
